The body of a young blonde man found burnt and tortured in a Manchester canal. He is discovered to be a journalism student who claimed he was onto the story of a lifetime. The area where he was murdered was subject to a land dispute. But is his death leading the police on a false trail? A young woman is adamant she remembers a childhood twin brother, but her father swears she's an only child. She has connections to the first victim and now a second young blonde is missing. DCI Rachel King and her East Manchester CID team must determine what links this all together, but she has a secret of her own, the love of her life is a well-known villain and has moved in next door! The last thing Rachel needs is her daughters' father reappearing, especially when everything points to his involvement in her investigation.
